The Dinkel family joined Shelter Island’s Summer community in
the 1940s and continues their residency and their involvement as
volunteers in a multitude of Island organizations. Dinkels are
involved with Hospice, the Shelter Island Historical Society,
The Garden Club of Shelter Island, the Shelter Island Yacht Club,
St. Mary’s Church and many other Island mainstays of the
continuance of life here. It is also a name remembered in
Montclair, New Jersey and known in New York City residential
real estate circles.
